What:
The idea behind The Licensing Plate is simple, aggregate all of the news relevant to those of us in the rights and clearances business, then sort this information by category to optimize for relevance and searchability.
Why:
Those of us in the rights and clearances business know how difficult it is to stay informed. To keep up with the news that is important to us. Too many sources. Too little time. I for one searched the web for a site that distilled relevant news and commentary down to digestible links and bites. When I was unable to find anything, I decided to create it. Thus, The Licensing Plate was born.
Who:
I have been working in the rights and clearances space for almost 20 years. I currently own Hitch & Plow Productions, a licensing consultancy founded to help clients navigate the world of intellectual property acquisition. Prior to owning my own shop, I worked as a celebrity endorsement agent at International Creative Management in Beverly Hills. I also ran the talent department at Euro RSCG, New York, handling all of their rights, clearances and celebrity talent negotiations.
Should this blog find an audience it is my hope that it will evolve to include interviews, articles and other original content that those of us in the business of licensing intellectual property would find compelling. In the meantime, I hope you find this blog to be a useful tool and a place you visit every morning in order to get up to speed on the day’s events. Please feel free to reach out to me through the Contact section with any comments or suggestions. I look forward to hearing from you.
