Music fans given chance to own a piece of a hit

On Saturday, the company SongVest will open a two-week auction at www.songvest.com that features writers’ shares of 18 songs, including country hits such as “Friends in Low Places,” “I Swear,” “You and I” and “Someone Else’s Dream.” Artists who have recorded the songs offered include Aerosmith, Ringo Starr, Cher, Ozzy Osbourne and The Monkees.
