Supreme Court to rule on copyrights

After examining the case multiple times, the Supreme Court agreed on Monday to rule on the scope of federal court authority to decide cases involving copyright infringement.  The Court limited its review to a question it had composed: “Does 17 USC 411 (a) restrict the subject matter jurisdiction of the federal courts over copyright infringement actions?”  The case is Reed Elvesier, et al., v. Muchnick, et al. (08-203).  It was the only case granted Monday.
