A trademark can be a company’s greatest asset. It can also be one of its biggest challenges — especially lately.
Some 3,652 trademark cases were filed in U.S. courts in 2010, up 8% over the previous year, according to FTI Consulting’s latest figures. That’s the biggest percentage increase in the last 10 years.

Hi, there Stephen!
I like your blog, especially this posting about trademark. Trademark really is a great deal for any company, especially the good one. I read the full article in CNN as well. It’s also a great article for me.
As one of company owner, not a big one actually, I’ve been experiencing some cases of getting the trademark. So many things to prepare, and they’re not easy. Especially when it comes to a trademark fight.
For a big company, managing trademark might be not a hard thing to do. Let’s say for Sony, which already create so many products, like Sony KDL46NX810 HD TV, DSLR-A900 camera, or even the VAIO Net-book.
Anyway, thanks for posting!

Must say, those trademark stats surprize me when I think how the economy’s been lately.
